On May 21, 2022 a powerful storm ripped through Ontario leaving hundreds of thousands out of power for weeks and incredible damage done to their property. People not only lost their homes but also their lives. Again On July 24th the Tweed area got hit with another epic storm that brought along with it an EF2 Tornado with maximum estimated wind speeds of 190 km/h. The tornado and thunderstorms caused extensive damage in the region, knocking down trees and power lines, toppling barns, flipping a trailer and even a pickup truck that was thrown approximately 25 meters.
The Happy Project, is in memory of our beloved horse and long time member of the Stampede family. "Happy" was in her thirties when she passed away. For 8 years she was the center of attention in the petting zoo. She was great with kids and loved the attention that she would get at the Stampede. Over the years thousands of families have seen/pat her mane and had their picture taken with her.
This year, we have chosen this as our cause for the Happy Project. If you or someone you know have been affected by these devastating storms we want to give you a reason to smile. Just like Happy did for so many guests at Stampedes in the past. Please contact us and tell us briefly about the person whom you would like to send tickets too. We will select 5 recipients of tickets to this years Tweed Stampede.
